Dry Eye Clinic
Assessment and treatment for ocular surface disease and meibomian gland dysfunction.
Dry eye is common and often under-treated. Symptoms include grittiness, fluctuating vision, watering, and discomfort with screen use or air conditioning. Assessment includes tear break-up time, ocular surface staining, and meibography to examine the oil-producing glands of the eyelids. Management is matched to the cause and may include lubricants, lid hygiene, intense pulsed light therapy, or anti-inflammatory drops. Improvement is usually gradual and needs review.
